These text types were put together to represent a few royal families’ weddings. This event was also related to our subject “Language{Part 3-Language in different cultural and context… }”. My role in this event was as a team leader of the Middle East T eam which covered two royal weddings.

Date: 10 January 2019

My Participation description: I was the leader of the group called “Middle East Team”.

My contribution-

1. Explaining the teammates about the event (giving them a brief idea, the task, the text type which needs to be focused and the aims and objectives of this event. Also, I did provide the deadline for the work and the date of the event and other required details to them.)

2.Dividing the task, firstly we had to select a Royal Family from the continent, so I informed my teammates to research upon that. Then later according to their skills, I allocated them the task and gave them the deadline of submission which was 20th December. The royal weddings that we showcased were the weddings of Jordanian Prince Rashid bin El Hassan, and the princess Zeina Shaban, and Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Suhail bin Ahmed bin Juma Al Maktoum from Dubai.

3.Consultation (after 2-3 days I use to meet them personally and use to take updates.)

4.Decoration (I ordered all thes material and resources required, also bought some wine glasses for decoration and help to decorate the room)

Learning outcomes:

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth (I identify my weakness that being a leader I was not able to give my best in the task which I had assigned myself, which will now help me to improvise. And attending all the members at the same time was a little bit difficult so now it will help to improvise my leadership skills.)

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process (The challenge was to keep eye on everyone, also it was my first event where I was a leader and had to present on such a big stage. I was challenged in my task’s presentation due to stage fear).

LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience (In the starting of the activity my team members weren’t ready with work which was created a problem so I had to change the plan and then extend the deadline).

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively (To be perfect in Whakanui, it was very important to complete the work. Also without the team it would have taken a lot of time also unity is important for a successful event.)

The recognizable proof of my quality and shortcomings occurred in Whakanui. I shockingly discovered that I can figure out how to finish my undertaking, as well as help other people in their errands’ culmination. This was bewildering in light of the fact that I generally thought little of the way that with commitment, and taking interests, performing various tasks should be possible effectively (as you appreciate diverse errands). This underestimation of mine can be considered as a shortcoming as it can let down my eagerness for working by and large, and makes me critical. As I probably am aware how the previously mentioned practice can adversely influence my exhibitions, I feel exceptionally enthusiastic in light of the fact that now I know one of my shortcomings, just as the way that I will defeat as it is critical to improving me feel about myself. So as to inside develop as an individual, I have to think about my quality (with the goal that I can utilize it to end up effective), and shortcomings (so I can improve upgrades to end up an individual). Beating underestimation is a demonstration that I might want to rehearse, with the goal that I don’t botch any chance as a result of my nearby mindedness that influences me to trust that I am not fit for that specific assignment.

Defeating the previously mentioned issue was trying as I had never attempted to enhance myself with respect to it, and I needed to in a split second change my outlook for Whakanui, so as to make progress. I have not been engaged with exercises like Whakanui which influenced me to do performing multiple tasks (which likewise helped me to rapidly plan, and start the occasion).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
DEMONSTRATE AN AWARENESS OF HOW LANGUAGE AND MEANING ARE SHAPED BY CULTURE AND CONTEXT

After completion of the event, we thought that we will win, but we got on the 3rd place and which was satisfying. My take away from this event is that an individual is conceivably competent to complete much activity, and on the off chance that they think it is beyond the realm of imagination than there is a potential issue with the mentality of that person.

For this activity, grade eleven was provided with an opportunity of extending their knowledge of the IB English learning outcomes by exploring them through making different text types.
