My responsibility

My personal involvement in this activity was to contribute to the team as a volunteer. The main task besides effort was consistent participation. I was expected to promote the event and be on time for meetings, on day work etc. This helped me with punctuality issues I’ve often struggled with time: endless submissions, homework, etc. Through this managing, all the work extra classes was a task. Yet I successfully learned the skill of time-management.

Difficulty and how I overcame

I don’t talk to strangers its kind of weird but for marketing the event (Selling passes)

I had to talk to unknown people and the difficult part is to convince someone to come in a paid event. Through this, I learned communication skills. Well the things which interest me are organizing, helping and creativity. It was all about taking responsibility and working towards achieving the best for the event. (L4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.) An event organized by Ranchos.

About the event

In the event, a guest speaker was invited to talk about business management, entrepreneurship and how he has achieved his dreams? The speaker is the chairman and managing director of Thyrocare. He speaks about various things from his life struggles to business.

Achivment

Through this I got to know about areas I have grown in like communication, working collaboratively this sums up the learning outcome I achieved which is perseverance and communication.

The overall 1-month hard work to get X number of people at the event was difficult but not impossible. Working on the day looking at arrangments, getting food and the hall requirements managed was a task. However, the event was appreciated and fun.

Learning outcome

L1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.

L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

While taking up the challenge to communicate (mentioned before – not familiar with talking to strangers) to people about the event and managing time for organizing the event I developed communication and self-management skills.

L5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

As the event was on such a big scale to reach success, multiple people, their opinion and expertise were required. Working together with people of different age and school taught me collaboration.

Conclusion

The experience of working and developing my own knowledge was interesting in this process I also learned various skills from communication to socializing. Learned importance of working in a group and perfection when you do an event.
