Service Session!

Our school had invited government school children and had gives us this chance to provide them with some activities which they might not be able to do.They used to come to our school on saturdays and we had to teach them.(give them service)

Learning Outcomes:

LO2:Communication to children was somewhat difficult as some of them did not knew to speak hindi and were not able to communicate with us.A lot of the times the children did not listen to us and did what they want to do. We had to be kind and nice to them. Most of the children were also taking a lot of time to learn, but we taught them and they learned.Teaching them in a way they would understand, increased my patience level.

LO3:Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

We had to choose what we wanted to teach them. We had to decide what we wanted to teach them when. The teaching plan, class schedule, throws or a quick match So, before Saturday, me and my friends used to decide what we wanted to teach. We spent the first 5-10 minutes of the every session to go with the warm up and then our schedule. We had planned what we wanted to do from the very first session and so we did not waste time

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

As the service sessions were  for 6 Saturdays which is almost 2 months. These sessions were extra and we had to specially come to school on all of the Saturdays to give government school children service This  was a commitment as it was not only one session, but there were 6 sessions. No one can back out in the middle of the service sessions as the children we were teaching would suffer. We all had our school work but we managed our time and schedules and attend the session on the saturdays.we students had to do all the planning as in what to teach and when. This required  commitment as we had to meet and discuss and plan before the saturdays.we had to give in our best for the 6 service sessions

L5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Working in a team helped me to teach children properly and manage them As told earlier, that we always planned before the sessions, the team got divided in 2 parts so half use to plan  and others decided for next sessions. If there was no team, I would have not been able to do this so nicely and make them learn.I was leading the warm up and it was good as we were in team as whenever I forgot, someone  would help me and we would continue. Same was with the team we always helped each other, when they lost track. We had a few issues regarding what to teach and what not, but we decided camly and went ahead.
