CAS trip to GIR.

I have been to  Gir forest thrice with my family and friends from school on trips, The aim of our trip to Gir Forest was for a project to Save Lion by covering well.have an  experience of making a mental cover by doing welding, cutting and drilling and install it over the open wells.I was very excited for this trip as it was the given us an opportunity to work for with nature and do something for animals.

The learning outcomes I have achieved are:

LO2- Demonstrate that new challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills: This work on the trip taught me how to make a metal cover by welding, drilling, cutting etc. I had never experienced any such things before so it was fun.I learnt how to do things in the right manner under the supervision from people who hold usually did this work.this was a new challenge for everyone as it was the first time we were doing something like this.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively: We all were divided into 2 groups where each group had to make one metal cover. I gave my best to complete the work I was given. In team different people had different skills so everyone was doing work according to their skills.

LO6: Engagement with issues of global significance: As the endangered Asiatic Lions only exist in West India and Africa, Many lions were dying by falling the the wells. The main reason of this trip was to make metal covers and save lions from falling into the well. The metal cover helped  lions not falling into the well.

LO7- Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions: During this trip, I realised how importance wildlife is. Loss of endangered species and wildlife animals disturbs the ecosystem. we made protective metal cover to save lions so that they don’t die.
