Mount Abu was the destination decided for our yearly school trip which took place during the end of december 2018. The trip included numerous number of activities like trekking, rock climbing and caving. Two of the activities were a new experience for me, rock climbing and caving, while other activity was experienced by me at least once and this trip was a chance for me to work on that activity and improve as adventure activities are not possible in the city I live in. Also there was a major change in plan where on the first day itself we had to leave our campsite because our current campsite was going to be ceased the next morning. We shifted to the main city but the activities were made possible by our vendor.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I was not sure if it was possible for me to complete the entire rock climbing. The activity was quite difficult also. When I first tried I was not able to find grip but with time I was able to identify points with proper grip and was able to complete the rock climbing with some difficulty. During the whole process I was honestly not afraid to fall but I wanted to complete the whole rock. After efforts I was able to complete the task and I am also sure that no task is difficult and trying everything is must
LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences
As stated earlier our campsite was going to be seized on our 2nd day of the trip. Around 8 or 9 pm we were asked to pack our bags and leave the campsite and the campsite and the road was at least 200 to 300 meter walk down the hill. There was total darkness and we all had luggage to carry it down. Our commitment towards the trip and our vendors hard work allowed us to go down the hill. After going down the hill the vendors and teachers had 2 options, go the main Abu city or head back to the hometown Surat. By our luck and efforts of our vendors we were able to find a hotel in Abu city. We spend the rest of our trip inside city but still managed to do all the adventure activity.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Caving was my favorite activity during my whole Educational trip. Caving included passing through narrow caves formed between the mountains. The caves were very small and I was very afraid of passing through them as I was quite healthy compared to others. But I also had one more friend who was more healthy than me. We both decided to help each other and were at the end. The caves were small and one of them was where he had to keep our legs on one side and our back on the other side as they floor was very deep. I decided to go on first because I like doing adventures and once I felt it was safe, I asked him to come too. The collaborative working helped us pass through the caves.
