CAS PS – Basketball

PS, the acronym of personal sport. My chosen PS has been basketball since the past one year. Basketball is a team sport. Usually, it is tough to consider a team sport as one’s forte or an area of interest. This is because the amount of stress which is involved and the heights of frustration a team sport can give one player can be unbearable sometimes. Basketball falls under my area of interest as it has taught me more than just skill in some sport. There are qualities such as empathizing, patience and also teamwork.

Therefore according to my personal interests in basketball, the learning outcomes which I have chosen are:

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Although basketball is a sport which requires input by the whole team and individual contribution and capability also do matter. I have found myself to be included in the crucial moments of any match our team is playing and also my ability increasing every time I do play basketball and also specialize in the position which I have to play in.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

As I have been playing basketball for a while now, I have got that understanding regarding the game that what should I improve on my delegated position which is the “Rebounding” position. Before any tournament, I have in my mind that what all improvement and strategies should I put up for implementation to bring out the maximum result.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

As a part of the of a team sport, it is a vital duty of mine to play in a completely ethical manner. Also, I have never missed any of my basketball classes so that I drain out the maximum benefits out of the sport.

I recently played a tournament conducted in my school and my implementing my learning outcomes I did achieve a prize for it.
