Personal Profile

Hello! I am Nishi Shah from Fountainhead School, Surat studying IBDP. What makes me unique is ¨I¨. My CAS profile reflects my strengths, area of interest, extracurricular activities about community service, creativity, and physical activities. I have taken Visual arts, Business Management, and Hindi B as my HL. I have taken Environmental Systems and Societies, Maths and English language literature as my SL. These subjects indicate my inclinations towards arts, business, and the environment.

This CAS profile even shows my talents and interests towards activities that I took part in this span of 18 months. An activity like, decoration in events represents my interest in arts, Run for green surat showcases my longing towards making the society a better place to live. , organizing events like Morp depict management skills. It is said ¨No one is born with skills and talents¨. Its the practice I do to achieve what I desire because I believe that if you don’t apply it for a greater good than you’re no better than those who don’t have a talent. CAS as a requirement of Diploma, I feel it has given me an opportunity to relax and live a little in between our busy study schedule. Not everything I did as part of my CAS was in accordance with my skills so it was my self-development. Engaging with different people and learning communication skills. Major was time management a downside but I have always intended to work upon them and develop. I like crafting and designing things. Basically, anything creative especially minute details and playing with color. I require silence and solitude as I can’t seem to function without them. With continuous IB deadlines and assessments, I don’t actually get time for myself, solitude or time to develop talents and skills that I want to. I am interested in dance-like Bharatnatyam (an Indian dance form) which requires time, energy and lots of effort to learn which I could not manage with the IB curriculum, so I had to take a gap from dancing but I intend to join once I complete IBDP.

I am a movie and TV shows freak who is still struggling to find her favorite genre yet. Not just that but you would find me trying to overthink in a positive manner and spending time listening and observing. I like to be in a lively place but I am not the one who would always raise a voice because I’m a little introvert.

Since childhood, I have been brought up in a joint family which has taught me unity and sharing. Also, the major lesson I have learned from my family and IB is kindness they want to do something for someone in need. I wish to be involved in movements against illiteracy, and violence. I also hope to be a part of a society that tries to break stereotypes. That would be nice. Ther is a quote that illustrates my outlook on life¨life has no limitation, except the ones you make¨. So I believe in trying new things, setting my soul free to learn and explore.

Having said that IB keeps us busy in studies, I felt that I have faced a decline in my physical health. That is why the first thing that I would like to improve my physical fitness by being more involved in activities like proper diet and gym.

I observe a lot of art in nature its an art of god. So I have always wanted to go on adventure trips, campaign, traveling spreading smile and positivity all around. Also importantly, make an identity of mine in society. I want to work, break stereotypes make use of my education and achieve success in my career. I want my parents and family to be proud of me.
