CAS trip to Gir- Fatema Jariwala

Our school organized a project for us in which we could volunteer for net building activity to cover wells. There wells are deep and usually in thirst for water lions fall in them and die. I volunteered for the activity and we visited Gir forest for the same. It was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

L2 and L4- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken developing new skills, commitment to and perseverance.
In this project, we were given tasks like welding the metal and cutting it. It was extremely challenging to do this kind of task efficiently and I had to learn very quickly how to do them. I took up the challenge and focused well while the demonstration and soon could do the welding properly. I learned a new skill that I will use whenever required.

L6- Engagement with issues of global significance
The main aim of this project was to protect lions from falling in wells. This is a contribution to wildlife conservation. Lions are endangered and this is an issue with global significance. I took part in this process and felt really satisfied that I could play a role in wildlife conservation.

L7- Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
While doing the work we equally divided it within ourselves and made sure all the work done is environment-friendly. Also, all safety measures were taken in order to do the work protectively. Ethics were taken care of in the whole project.
