Box cricket league

Box cricket tournament, held at a huddle sports arena was a hit. Teams ranging from young kids to adults passionate about cricket. This event was a fundraising event in which I participated as a player and a volunteer in the logistics department, tallying scores and updating the fixture were the task which I was involved. This tournament was my first ever professional tournament which I played at a district level along with my teammates (Ansh, Tanish, Rishi and Swayam.). Playing at this level needed a higher amount of practice and knowledge. It was also an amazing part on the organizer’s end, from the location to the management it was all smooth and commendable.

LO-1
As a player, my strengths were the way I bowled for which I won the ‘Best Bowler of the Tournament’ award. I was glad to get my team to a better platform, I was confident and focused during every game we played which help my team. My high spirit and cheer also kept us going, everyone on the team played their part, most importantly communicating helped us get to a certain level compared to other teams. I was dedicated to this tournament for which we started practising a month before. I think that I could have been better on the batting part to get us some more runs when chasing the target.
I was quite happy with the way I performed being an amateur at this sport, I just kept going on saving runs for my team and could help us to get to semi-finals.

LO-2

There were several challenges along the way such as time management for practice sessions, bad weather or some other event. We didn’t have the amount of coordination that was required to get the kind of game we should have played. What I learned was risk-taking and to commit myself to what I am doing. If I weren’t focused it would have been a blunder for our team from the bowling end. Though with several challenges and hurdles in our way we performed beyond our expectations and goals. Challenges I felt as a volunteer were none, as there was some or the other person to back me up when I had a game going on, it was all taken care of. I was quite happy with the clarity everyone had about their duties and could do their duties as assigned.

LO-4
Commitment and perseverance, this is what helps me and my team achieves beyond our aims. We weren’t into getting more batting or bowling or having fun, it was always the commitment to winning. We did a few practice sessions which resulted in a better game, helped us get to a higher level in the tournament. There were teams that played better than us and were much more experienced than we were but we never gave up; I never gave up. It rained during the game but we didn’t let the game stop, we saw it from the eye but didn’t let it process up to the mind which was a great sportsman spirit and I could never forget that very moment. Though we just couldn’t make it to the finals we fought till the last moment, hats of to my friend/teammate (Tanish). We learned to strive for the best and to perverse!
I am thankful to the organizers of the event and to all the members who volunteered for the tournament and special thanks to my teammates for this wonderful experience I’ve had.
