CAS trip to Gir (Creativity,Activity,Service)

I always wanted to a nature trip but it never happened due examinations and deadlines were always on top our head. Then our school organised a trip to Gir were we were supposed to cover open wells because lions feeling into it during night. It took us 2 days to make net to cover the well it was totally new thing which we had done expect studying.

LO1:-identify own strength and develop areas of growth

During the trip I identified my own strengths and weakness. My greatest weakness was I used to get tired very fast whereas my greatest strength was not to give up. Now that I know my weakness I started to work on it so it won’t cause any problem in future such as playing in school’s football team.

LO5:demonstrate the skills and recognize to working collaboratively

Working with others was always an easy task for me because works get divided equally and it gets easy for everyone. It was easy to work with others on trip and on top of that it was mainly a group task. I didn’t have to work with anyone difficult. It is important for me to work collaboratively because working with different people improves my communication skills. In my activity teamwork was the most important part because it wouldn’t have been possible for a single person to make a net.

LO6:- Demonstrate engagement with issue of global significance

The issue was increasing in death rate of lions in Gir. They were dying because of them falling in open well during their hunt. Our guide told us that there are around 500-550 lions left in Gir and their population was decreasing at a fast rate and they can go extinct if they die, so covering well was our main purpose. Now that I am aware about the lions that are endangered species I feel that they should be protected and they should be taken good care of otherwise they may go extinct.

The CAS trip was knowledgeable and helped me to develop my communication skill and social skill because in the past I was not able to socialize properly and had problems in adapting new people and culture.
