CAS trip to Gir

Trip- School took us to CAS trip to Gir. In that particular trip, we had to make 2 coverings for 2  wells so that the lions don’t accidentally don’t fall into it and die. We were divided into 2 groups because we had to make 2 coverings. We had 2 days to complete our task and on the second day evening, the coverings were had to be kept on the well.

LO2: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

This project was completely a new thing for me as I have never worked with metaIs. In this project, I got to know about my abilities to do different things for our own community. We had to weld and cut the metals, which was a difficult task but I was able to do it. Working with metal cutting machines was an easy and fun job for me.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

The planning on how to make the fence in a suitable way was done by us, the location faculty and the teachers with us, which led us to create a better and stable covering.

Everything was done slowly and steadily by take the metals and joining them, afterwards, the fencing was added so it stays on the metal.

LO5-Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The skill of communication which makes work comparatively easy was recorded as there was a lot of teamwork in many situations which eventually made the goal of making the covering for the Lions a successful one.

LO6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

it is clearly evident that the activity was engaging for the participants for attempting to solve a global issue of saving the endangered animals like the lions.

In this project, I did learn a few things. 1st was to communicate with new people, it took me some time to talk to the location advisors and work with them. Slowly, when time passed, we talked properly and were comfortable to work with each other. 2nd was about the environment, I didn’t know that people in our society were this much serious about the animals safety, so after this project even I got serious and got to know about our own society and I took a step for the safety of animals, recently there was a moment when I saw a bird on the road with a heavy injury on his legs, as soon as I saw that, I called the animal safety to take away the bird and cure it. “Animals also have a life and it is important to save them”, this is what I learned from the trip.
