Frisbee Tournament

Experience

I am really passionate about learning sports, so I made a new goal to explore different formations and learn Frisbee. Although I have been playing it for a year, but to develop enough skills to play tournament was my motive. After this, I also played one more, Ultimate frisbee tournament which is held in Ahmedabad.

Some days before the match, we came early, we had practice time to gain some insight about how this formation will be played and what strategies we can use. My team members and I assured to show the determination that will go in each practice mainly because of these reasons and also to know the rules which are to be followed so that while playing the game we do not take any actions against the rules and follow our moral values.

As it was a league, we played around four matches. While playing these I was able to identify and exhibit my strengths and my skills correctly.  Mainly, one thing that I learned while playing was how to cooperate with my team members as it was my first match.

As it was my first tournament I had to improve so that I could play better. Despite losing a few games, we enjoyed playing the game. I was really satisfied with how my team performed because we have a good fight. Also, our practice sessions were worth it because it helped us in coordination.

Learning outcome

L1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I gained experience and got to know areas I am good in like catches, stamina, etc I have good speed, therefore, I could make sure that the person whom I defend doesn’t get the disc. As this was my first tournament I developed in terms of game rules and teamwork.

L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

As I learned frisbee in the process and developed skills of team building etc as I mentioned above about stamina and the way I play the game. Has changed with time because participating has taught me a new technique. I learned new techniques from other teams as well as my team there throws, spirit, etc.

L4-commitment to and perseverance

we came early to school to practice for 6-7 so that in a tournament we can showcase our best at both the tournaments we also had practice sessions outside school.

I was committed to perform every task because I dint want to regret any decision I made as it affects the whole team also to work on tactics and skills.

L5-. Demonstrate the skills and benefits of working collaboratively

As it is a team game working collaboratively is necessary which we worked upon by coming early and practicing. Long and short passes, trusting team members are the skills I developed for the game. This game also taught me the spirit and acceptance of both failure and success as we won and lost some matches.

Conclusion

During the game, we faced many challenges, however, we gained experience which will make us learn from our mistakes and play other tournaments with much more accuracy.
