Activity and Service: This was a cricket tournament organised by my friends where I helped and participated in it. It was a 3 day long tournament. I helped them on and off the tournament days, I helped them in finding their tournament sponsors, and in organising stuff on the days of tournaments. I also participated in this tournament with my team in it to play tournament.
LO-1: By participating in this tournament, I got to know many things. I learnt how to negotiate with the sponsors, I learnt how to find sponsors in my city, I learnt how to organise different things in a better way. By participating in this tournament, I got to know my abilities to play on a turf ground and gradually my abilities increased.
Firstly, I didn’t know how to negotiate while talking to the people, working with them helped me a lot to improve my skills. Their organisation was comparatively better than others, hence by looking at them I learnt how to organise a small successful tournament.
LO-2: A lot of time had to be given to them to for a collaborative work. I had to miss my tuition classes to help them, I had to work up till midnight to complete all my pending work which was due to the tournament. Hence challenges were undertaken to achieve the negotiation and organisational skills. Practice time had also to be given to the team because we even participated in the tournament, hence, handling the work was difficult but I managed to do it.
LO-4: I was consistent while working with them. I was always ready whenever they called me to work. Also with all the work, my team also conducted practice sessions to perform well in the tournament.
LO-5: We all worked collaboratively, even with my team and organisers. Working together made our jobs much easier, we all were able to divide our work to finish our work quickly. Once, while we were going to different places for sponsorship (we were five of us), after sometime we all were out of time then we decided to split up our team and go in different shops to ask for sponsorship, this made our job easier. There were many instants like these which made our job easy due to effortful team work.
LO-6: We had to print our sponsors company’s logo, firstly we thought to print on a paper which was cheap and environmentally unfriendly. Then, altogether we decided to go for a paper which is good for the environment although it being cheap. Over here we all were proud of ourselves that even though our cost went up, we still decided to take an environmentally friendly step.
LO-7: While the tournament was going on, we were all eating different packed food items and threw it on the ground, but then after the tournament ended we understood our wrong actions taken hence then our whole logistics team picked up all the plastic and threw it in the dustbin to make a better
surrounding.
