Global odyssey was a student-led event on the subject of group 3 which are Economics, ITGS, Business management, Psychology, and Global politics. The event was about Globalisation, innovation, and ethics. The event was where the children and teacher can come and engage in a number of games or trending accessorize or yummy food stalls and helps to connect with the subject. There were different teams like entertainment, food, innovative items, logistics, fashion and tourism, finance and decoration team. I was appointed as the head of innovative items with one more fellow. Our group had to think everything out of the box to be different from the food group which was quite a challenge. But finally, we got to a conclusion of our menu which was:- Mac and cheese cupcake, Fruit loops nutribar, brownie with coco and bhel. We also had cute diaries, small scented candels and rice gain name bottle, and photobooth with three different background. The profit that we earned had been contributed to MISSING GIRL CHILD, a public awareness campaign which aims to sensitize the populace to the plight of millions of little girls who are trafficked for sexual exploitation. Working locally and globally, the campaign done by the organization is educating individuals and communities to put an end to this modern-day slavery. This events had many ups and downs but were quite fun and engaging. In this event All three aspect our covered Creativity, Activity and service.
Learning outcomes achieved:-
LO 1: Identify own strength and develop areas of growth
I am good at baking and cooking stuff so I could easily help other teammates and bake good amount of food, but even in that it was quite hard for us to manage everything and bake everything one day before the event so during the event we just have to fry it and serve it hot, but eventually we could do it. As we had other sectors too rather than food where craftwork was much required but I am not soo good at it which is where I couldn’t help in the decoration part much but I tried to help them by getting the materials assigning them more people when they had load and plus I also tried to help them with small cutouts.
L0 2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
Towards the starting, we were not sure about what should be done? what are Items should be? Should we only sell foods or diaries? There were many questions which as group leader we had and even our groupmates had. We all were very confused but eventually after having 3-4 lengthy meetings with the members and after that, with the teacher, we were able to finalize and get a clear picture of what should we do. One more challenge I faced was getting all the food ready one day prior. As the food is something which we like to eat fresh so we had to keep that for the last but it was too much of time-consuming as something were there and some things weren’t which made it and was needed and we had to work for it quite late in night and had to wake up early also, because of communication not being up to the mark. But eventually, we worked as team resolved all the problem and did good in the event.
LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
As stated above we as a group was finding difficult to understand what should be done on our stall, we divided teams and ask all the group member to give ideas on whatever field you like in. After dividing all the work it was easy and were getting new ideas which lead to clarity. and soon everyone was sure what has to be done on the event day and how.
L4. Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
We were focused on furnishing our group of spectators with great quality and amount of food and other product, which we were fruitful in doing as such. Despite the fact that there were numerous challenges that we needed to confront, we had the option to manage every one of them and make this occasion successful. I also tried to help everyone and not act bossy and made sure everyone did there work on time. We also made sure we gather all perspective and then make a decision.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
We had divided our members on the basis of what he/she is best at and most interested in., for eg some idea for the possibility of the photo booth, some chose and bake the food items, and so on. In our group there was a lot of coordination which helped everyone at some of the other points. We were each other backbones. Likewise, it was simply because of coordination between the gathering individuals that we could complete this event in victory.
L6. Engagement with issues of global significance
10% of the cash earned was given to a prestigious NGO ‘Missing girls’.This is a non-benefit association utilizing technology and innovation for social change. It spreads mindfulness about human dealing and furthermore takes activities to stop these practices. Human dealing has consistently been a genuine worldwide issue. This NGO came to our school and educated us about sex dealing and even have their application: Missing young ladies. We were moved by what this association did, thus we chose to give our income to them and be a section to stop human dealing.
L7. Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
We as a group and as the grade was sure we wanted to remain ethical all the times while doing any job. wheather it is pricing or donoation we made sure we are not greedy and do it for the well being of the society. We were not ethical in just money matter but also we were using our resources effectively so there is no wastage of it. As even in our school policy we are restricted to get outside food or junk food which increased our cost, efforts and time but eventually gave a good result and remained ethical.
Every one of the skills that we learned in school was tried to bring such an astonishing show, there were a few abilities at which we needed however have created through this event. There had been good and bad times in the arranging and execution of the occasion yet since us all were as one all through. We were additionally ready to bring a change and contribute by giving some piece of the income to the non-benefit association Missing Girl Child. This was a little commitment it made a positive effect to stop human dealing. The execution of the entire occasion was simply done right making it fruitful!
