Vedant’s Personal Profile

Artistic interests

I have been playing drums since I was in grade 5. I have recently appeared for an examination in drums known as the Trinity Guildhall exam. I am also a decently skillful Tabla player, and have tried my hands on the Indian Flute “Bansuri”. I like to explore music from different regions, cultures, and genres.

I explored film making as a part of my CAS experience, and participated in a contest as well. Ever since, I have modified my “movie going experience” developing a keen sense for what must have gone behind the scenes, how characters are portrayed to generate emotions, costumes, color correction, etc.

Sporting interests

I played basketball for a very long time. However, few medical conditions forced me to stop playing basketball, which is why I started exploring other less intense and indoor sports like Volleyball and Table Tennis. While I am not masterful at any sport, I enjoy playing games and sports with my group of friends.

Other Interests

Inquisitiveness is embedded in me to such an extent that no explanation satisfies me. From lasers to atmospheric sulfur to environmental policy, I dig as deep into concepts as I possibly can, always striving to unearth the very core of the idea I’m exploring. I am especially excited to learn about things that seem simple, but are deeply complex. I also love to study how science and math can aid the betterment of society by using concepts like optimization, piezoelectricity,

How I see my future:

I wish to become an experimental physicist working on particle physics, especially Muons and the top quark. I also wish to work on science communication, and public outreach taking inspiration from Salman Khan, the founder of Khan Academy.
