Personal Profile- Diya Jagani

Hi! My name is Diya and I’m a seventeen year old young adult. The key feature that differentiates me from the people of my age is that I am extremely comfortable in solitude. At the same time, I adjust to the environment and make friends quite easily (I made many good friends within a very short period of time when I changed my school last year). People say I’m very sensitive to people’s emotions and they love my company!

I am an artist; I explore and adore creativity in everything I see around me. I love expressing myself through dancing, singing, playing guitar and writing. The creative me is also accompanied by my athletic side. I love sports, especially basketball (I played my first Nationals recently after my CAS experience was over). Having sports in my life has given me so many life lessons that I look up to (such as not giving up even at your absolute worst) that I want that maximum people, especially children are involved with sports in some manner (which led me to teaching poor kids basketball at the service camps).

Talking about my outlook on life, I strongly believe that one should be defined by what they love, not the things that they hate and are afraid of. That is why it is so crucial to identify one’s passion and have faith in it. And to find your passion, you need to explore a lot (that is the reason why my CAS experience is so wide-ranging involving music, dance, hosting, cooking, sports, debate; typically everything!). My biggest dream in life I can think of is to identify and utilize all my talents to my maximum potential to bring a difference in other’s lives. I have just begun my journey to achieve that dream and CAS has really helped me identify my talents and moving beyond limits.
