Literary Event- Monsoon Musings

Monsoon Musings was a charitable event which also served as a platform to promote literature. It took place within the school. The event was segregated into three parts: Seva cafe, art stall, and stage performance. Seva Cafe: The cafe was set up to serve guests with a range of savory items.    Also, there was a donation box kept there for guests to pay voluntarily for the food. Through this, we aimed to raise funds.

Art stalls:  Art stalls were established to display student’s artworks. Some of these artworks were even on sale.

Stage Performance:  An opportunity was provided for all literator to present/orate their literary artworks on stage.

LO1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth and LO7- Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Among the three categories, I knew my strength was arts. Therefore, I decided to put up my artwork for the display. My piece was a replica of the original artwork with a doll dancing. Therefore, being an IB student, we have to be academically honest. Therefore, it was my responsibility to give credits to the original artwork. So, I gave the citations of the original artwork along with the replica.

LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively

Before the event, I really had no job to do, and I didn’t wish to help anybody because that gets tiring. But, a lot of work was pending and there was less time left, so I helped the decoration team and tried to make their work easier. I helped them in decorating the Atrium and put up the artworks on boards for display.  On the day of the event, as my artwork was displayed, I was an aid to the Seva Cafe team and helped them in serving food to guests.
