Table Tennis in PS

Our school provides us with a huge range of sports activities to opt from during our PS slot. We are required to choose one activity of our interest and continue pursuing it for the rest of the year. I opted for Table Tennis(TT). Table tennis also known as ping pong, is a sport in which 2 or 4 players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across the table using small rackets. I was new to the game as TT is a sport which I have never tried playing before. Also, TT is a sport which helps increase our concentration and focus. Learning another aptitude is genuinely significant, this idea drove me to choose TT as my PS. The school provides us with proper training equipment ranging from the automated machine and multiple tables in one room to different type of rackets to choose from. LO 1: Identify own strength and develop areas of growth. Being fairly new to the game it was initially tough for me to play and blend in with other students. Soon after starting TT I realized that my backhand strokes were better than my forehand strokes and to improve on my game I started using an automated machine to practice my strokes. It helped me a lot in improving my shots. And I was able to play quite well later. LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. As stated that it was new to the sport to me, I had no prior experience of how to play it. It required a huge amount of focus which is something I lack. So TT as a whole was a challenge to me and to some extent I thought that it not my cup of tea. But through hard work and right guidance, I started playing fairly well and learn this new sport effectively. LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience. As this was a long term activity, it was going to last about for almost a year. I initially started with the basics of sport which was to learn backhand and forehand. I planned out beforehand that what is to be done in the slot and which areas should be the focus on. I discussed with the coach whether the flow was correct or not, and with his approval, I continued with the flow which I have planned. LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance CAS experience. We are given only 2 PS slots per cycle, so I try not to miss any class. I try to participate with the same energy in all PS slots as I do in other slots. LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively. As we are many students in TT this year, we divide into different groups and each group occupies one table. This way we also learn how to play doubles in TT. There are certain students who have background knowledge about TT, so they help us sometimes while the coach is catering to other students. LO7: Recognize and consider the choice of ethics As teenagers bunking slots is something which really tempts us.PS is a slot in which nothing academic is taught to us, so there is chance one might bunk the slot for fun or for completion of any other pending work. Being new and dedicated towards the sport I have never bunked any classes also I try and be on time always. If by any chance I might get late I make sure the coach is well aware of the reason. Table Tennis is a fun sport. I am taking some time to learn it and to get acquainted with the rules. I am trying my best to improve in this sport and strive to play well gradually.TT is something which requires focus and practice and I try my level best to excel in both these terms.
