CAS – AS

Cooking is always been fun and loving for me. I am very inclined in learning new dish and baking them . Cooking is a form of art where food is been prepared by combining, mixing, and heating ingredients. Talking about my Art special , I have chosen cooking. There are different type of cuisine we try very class , so that we get wide varieties and special appetizing cuisine for example- Punjabi , Gujarati, Italian, Mexican , etc. The thing I like the most to bake is desserts because I am person who really likes sweet and therefore even love to bake it! Doing cooking/baking has always been very energetic for me , as it has always been a bliss.

Learning outcome 2:- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

I have been learning cooking as art special since 3 years. Even though I am clear and wonderful at basic , I still need to work upon new creative dish and different style of plating which is a challenge for me. To overcome this challenge I had paid more concentration to the instruction given and tried it a few time to get perfection which eventually I got in the end after a lot of hard work and practicing it. Since cooking is not about just learning it also about experiment for different cuisine , which requires to be focused and even enthusiastic of what to do next through out the recipe.

Learning outcome 4:- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

In order to learn something new and making the class interesting and engaging , its not only teacher responsibility to engage the class , even students have to show commitment and determination for the class. The arts special class happens once a cycle only and I as a student try to make sure that I don’t remain absent till any crises arises , because its a platform to learn new varieties of dish which I am very interested in and I enjoy doing it.

Learning outcome 5:- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The most difficult challenge I faced was the time constraint. We had only 45 min to bake a dish and many a times the recipe was for more than 45 min. So thereby we had  a advantage of having more number of students , which helped us to complete the dish in the particular time. We had done  collaborative work and distributed according to the recipe. We had made different groups for different thing for example – cutting, chopping,mixing,etc. We thereby made the work easier and faster as we worked it as team and even it was memorable.

All the AS classes have been marvelous and there is more of practical than theory. It is even fun because of the things we bake as a team and learning it has been fun. This is going to help because I if we are in crises or something we know to cook at least basic food where in we could live. Cooking is something where somewhere  down the line everyone uses it as food is a necessity of life. While performing CAS AS I have used LO2 ,LO4 and LO5.
